Portfolio Project 2/28

    I plan on recording sometime this week to give me time to edit over the weekend so I can make any sudden changes if necessary.  I plan on going through on my original plan and if there are any sudden changes then I would make the changes but for now I'm sticking with my plan. For my music option I still want to use my upbeat music for the beginning of the opening and then get more serious throughout the opening. That is my main plan for now unless there are any other altercations so this blog will be short until then.

Project Portfolio 2/25

     For my filming schedule I would have to record in the mornings to try and get the lighting of the early morning to get that morning affect.  So I would have to record around the time of 7-8 am. I would also have to be weary about the weather and if there are going to be rainy days so I can schedule my recording to another morning. My original plan though is to get the majority of the recording done in one morning so I can keep it consistent and clean with the lighting and the feeling. If anything I would just use my original shots I filmed and repeat them myself in editing so that it stays consistent. The only thing I would change is some scenes where my character finds out about the repeating time he's in. So I would do that to make it clean and to keep it consistent. If my original plan doesn't work then I would have to schedule for a different morning and look through all my shots I did the first morning and fix my room to be exactly how it was that morning so nothing changes that doesn't need to change.  So I have 2 plans that I'm working with and I something does occur that messes up both plans then I would have to figure it out from there.

Portfolio Project 2/24

     I've made my final decisions for how I am going to film my project. One issue I am facing is if my opening will reach the 2 minute mark for my opening. I've created a back up plan just Incase my original idea doesn't meet the time requirements. My idea is to just add an extra scene of my character waking up again and living through the loop without noticing until I get to my third loop and then make the character realize what is going on. Over the weekend I decided to try and get some inspiration to see how I would film my opening and I looked at Disneys WandaVision. The reason I looked at WandaVision was due to the fact that the plot for the show is that it's all an altered world and that through out the show you slowly figure out that the world they live in is fake. I want to use some of their components that make the viewer start to see how the world my character is in is repeated. For example since my world is repeated I was going to use a water bottle that my character drinks right when he wakes up and after time repeats the water bottle would be filled up again showing that he never even drank out of it. That would be a major component for my character to find out that time repeated. It would also be a major component for the viewer to figure out that time is repeated for him.

Portfolio Project 2/22

     For this week I will be deciding how I will compose and how it will be sequenced for my opening. I would want to start my opening with a medium shot of me waking up. After I wake up I would place my camera under the bed just to get the view of my feet hitting the ground as I get up to show that I'm getting out of the bed. Then I would cut it to where I'm getting my clothes as I'm getting ready for my day. After those shots I would get a tracking shot of me going into my bathroom to go brush my teeth and then a sort of close up of me brushing to get a feeling of tiredness and then after I'm done with that sequence I would show myself leaving my room and closing the door. The camera would have a still shot on the door then it would track to the right and show my bed with me In it again. From there it would repeat the sequence and once I get to the the sink again is when I would realize that I've already done this and that I'm repeating myself. After my music choice was made that was when I would change the music to a more serious tone and slowly build up the suspense after the realization.

Portfolio Project 2/21

     From my interstellar soundtrack Idea I've decided to consider looking for a more up beat song to try and set the mood for my opening of a happy and clam feeling. After I set that feeling I would make it transition into more of  the dramatic music. I decided to make this change just to make the movie a little bit more unpredictable. I'm thinking of this because of the shots I wanna use for my opening. I wanna just get some medium shots of me getting up and walking over to my bathroom to get ready for my day. For those shots I want to make it seem like its a normal morning and that there could never be anything that could mess up that morning for my main character. After the mood has been lifted I would slowly fade out the music and make it become more serious and intense after my character has figured out that he has already woken up once and that he is redoing everything. That is why I think it would be better if I started off with some happy music and then changed it to more serious music just to change the mood just through 2 minutes of the opening for the film 

Portfolio Project 2/20

     I'm starting to look into music ideas for the opening and trying to find some eerie music to set the mood for the opening itself. I've gained a liking to the interstellar soundtrack because the whole album is just dramatic and it has a dramatic and eerie soundtrack. Interstellar was also a big inspiration for my time idea. Interstellar is all about how time is relative and that it can't be controlled and how Cooper (Matthew Mcconaughey) has to travel into the the black hole to find a new plant but ends up having to help his daughter in the future to tell her what the truth is so that she can fix it so she can make a better reality then the one he has faced. Interstellar will forever be one of my all time favorites movies and I could watch it at any time. So it was even better that my favorite movie has an amazing soundtrack. For the soundtrack I know I have to find royalty free music but I'm going to use the soundtrack as a layout for the type of music I want to include for my opening. For now this will be the music choice I will go off of but if my mind changes I'm sure I can find more substitutes for it.

Portfolio Project 2/18

     I'm returning to this blog with more of an idea of want I want to do for my film opening. My film is still going along the lines of drama but my story changed somewhat. For my new story it still has the same time concept but for my main character time always repeats and he has to figure out how to escape. My main plan for my filming is to just keep it in one area due to the COVID restrictions we have. My main area will be my room. It would start off with me in bed and I would wake up and do my normal routine. My plan was to just gather everything I need for the day and then just leave my room closing the door. After I close the door it would start the whole loop over again leading back to me waking up and then my opening would end by me realizing that I've already woken up once. It might change overtime due to new ideas but this is my overall thinking for my opening for my film. Since I'm pretty sure this will be the idea I will be working with for the rest of the time I will now start to think of the music and sound I want to use for my opening to set the mood.

Portfolio Project 2/16

     Today, I'm still going to look through multiple film openings to try and set a clear idea of what I want to work with and what I want to do. After class today I figured out that the story would be better presented if it has something that I can relate too. My initial ideas for my story was to just have sort of a time travel story where the character is in a timeless loop that repeats forever.  The genre of my film would be a drama film due to the fact that we are limited when it comes to the space we can work in and what we have to with. I'm still deciding on what I want to do with my main character and who it is going to be and what their characteristics will be throughout the film. I also have to decide what the setting of my film will be and how the lighting is going to work out.

    In the next couple days I will be going through some more drama films and I will be making my final decisions on what my opening is going to look like and I will be deciding what my main character is going to look like and his characteristics. So my next blog posting would be my final decisions of what I'm going to be working on and how I'm going to be working on it

Portfolio Project 2/14

     Today I'm deciding what I'm going to be working on for my film opening. I'm going to go through some films that really interested me and see how they opened up and collect from that and try to see if I can incorporate anything from it. Other than that I'll also be seeing what equipment I'd be working with to make the film become reality. 

Music Project Finale

     For our Music Marketing Project we had a lot of collaboration and plenty of Ideas to throw around to try and make the best presentation we can. Whenever we had an issues we would make sure to message each other about it and resolve the issue as soon as possible. We all told each other which roles we had for the project near the beginning and we went from there and we helped each other equally with our work. The google slides itself was a combination of all of our own words and ideas for our artist and it turned out really well. For example the first slide of our project was made by Giana and the Last slide was edited by Matias and the music video itself was made by Diego and his friend. What I learned from this whole project was the many different ways you can represent an artist and all of the different marketing plans that could work for any artist. Some aspects that will be helpful to develop my Cambridge portfolio is the way I can represent my portfolio and how I can catch the attention of anyone who see's the portfolio. This was an overall great experience to have because it really got you into the marketing world and how it would be in the real world and this gave us a little taste of it which was really helpful.
